beach baby

as i mentioned early, we are heading to cali soon to visit pete's side. i am so excited to take bennet to see the ocean and the beach. i am sure she will love the sounds and ocean air just as much as we do. can't wait to put her in her little tutu suit and this adorable sun hat and glasses. we've been practicing wearing them and she loves it...well the pulling them off part. i hope she leaves them on long enough to snap a few pics of her in the sand.



what am i most excited about is to see family. not being close to family and having a traveling husband def gets me down. some days are harder then others. like last night as pete was getting ready to leave for 4 days it hit me. i wish i could just go to my sister's house and let bennet laugh at her cousins. i wish that last night while we were grilling hot dogs, my mom could've come over for some. i want so badly for bennet to have her grandparents close. don't you think they should all just pack up already and move to nashville!? ;)

traveling with baby...

pete and i are embarking on a very busy traveling week coming up around easter. first we are driving down to atlanta to attend an award show (atlanta is around 4 hours away) then staying there 2 nights before driving back home. then the next day flying out to california. our flight is a little later then we would've liked but it was all we could get. so any tips with traveling this much with a baby? yes bennet will be with us for ALL of it. she is a pretty chill baby still as long as she is fed and well rested, but that doesn't take the stress away. what if she flips? what if i flip?? do i try and switch her schedule to cali time (2 hours behind us) do we seriously do this? i mean we are crazy right? i wouldn't be this stressed if they were separate trips with some time in between to rest and get back to normal. so my question...have you traveled with your baby close to bed time (on a plane?) have you traveled with a different time zone? what tips would you give us for all of this??

all of this is still a month away and i am already stressing about it. not to mention what i am going to wear to the award show (umm hello nursing DOES NOT help you lose baby weight!!! liars) so any help would be lovely :)

boo to the weekends

pete is gone this weekend (liiiike every other weekend) so i am longing for monday. to get me through the weekend i think we will spend lots of time snuggling, reading (bennet's favorite thing to do), and maybe a target trip in there somewhere. i also need to finish some spring cleaning chores left on my to do list. so that sounds like a pretty uneventful time ;)

but seeing this smile makes it all a little bit easier...

7 months!

we are now past half a year old! this sounds so crazy and yet i can't remember what life was like before you. everyday brings on something new. whether it is something big like learning to give kisses and dancing when you hear music or something little you do (pet my face while nursing) everything just melts my heart.



you are so much more vocal and will let it be known when you want something different, are bored, or don't want to nap. you love to be out and looking around. no more will you let me pop you in the car seat and pop it all in a cart. nope you want me to use the cart cover and sit like a big girl.



your favorite song is the itsy bitsy spider and are all smiles when we sing it to you. you love all music though and like i said you can dance. we have gotten some great video of you getting your grove on.



we have been working hard on teaching you to give kisses when asked. this, my little one, just melts my heart. and you don't seem to mind when i ask millions of times for your little smooches.



you continue to be such a sweet little baby and i adore our little family. thankfully daddy has been home a little so we've gotten to spend lots of time together. we are looking forward to the warmer weather and have lots of little adventures planned. but you my dear are the best adventure ever!

bennet loves petty. and by loves, i mean absolutely adores and will not pay attention to anyone or anything else when he is around.

petty is getting used to bennet. he loves her deep down inside and is just so curious about her. he doesn't get that she can't really pet him yet and quickly realizes it after losing a few hairs. petty is really going to love her once she figures it out. petty loves anyone who acknowledges him and will give him a scratch.

these 2 are just bound for many adventures and cuddles.



but for now i think they will keep an eye on each other.

i've wrote about this little baby boy before...today he is having his second heart surgery. in fact he is probably under going it as we speak. please join so many in prayer for this little fighter. pray for our dear friends matt and sarah as they have to wait in the waiting room. pray that God's peace and comfort surround them as they face the unknown.
