{1st time at the park}
{with daddy}
we had such a great time at disney! we had to wake up really early for our flight so by the time we got to the hotel we decided to all take naps. we stayed at the polynesian resort and it was so beautiful. we didn't take a long nap though because i was so excited :) we went straight to magic kingdom. staying at the resort was so easy and nice for getting to the different parks. we got there so fast. as soon as we walked in we met mary poppins. then we went to ride some rides. she was in love with small world. she was pointing at everything, dancing, and clapping. it was hilarious. we rode dumbo, pirates, and jungle cruise. she loved them all. we took her to meet the princesses which she love for the most part. she met my favorite sleeping beauty first who she loved. next was belle...this is where she started losing it. belle sits on the floor for the pics and as soon as b got close to the floor she just wanted to crawl around and be free. so by the time we got to cinderella she was over it. cinderella said "maybe she had too much magic" haha

the next day we went to animal kingdom. that tree is beyond awesome! our favorite thing about this park is the safari ride. it was so cool. the animals were so close. the lion was only a few yards away and we heard him roar! so crazy. bennet loved it and seeing all the animals. we both thought that the rest of the park was like a cool zoo. we didn't do too much else there but loved the shade and jungle of it. next we went to epcot. by this time though pete and i were tired and hot. so we just walked around the worlds and ate in "germany" then left. i wish we had more time there but we both agreed this was the "older people park" ha. we would've loved to take our time eating and drinking at every nation but with a baby we didn't have that much time. we went back to the hotel and bennet and pete both napped while i went to the pool. i found a hammock were secluded from everyone so i fell asleep there. it was lovely. we went back to magic kingdom that night for the band's show. while pete was preparing for the show i took b to meet mickey and minnie. as soon as she saw them she ripped her binky out and pointed at them and said "hi! hi! hi!" over and over again! it was hilarious. she loved them so much.

we had such a good time! don't get me wrong, i love disney movies and mickey mouse. and i loved disney world when i went in the past but i was never that person who would want to take a vacation there. now i totally would. seeing it through your kids eyes is the most amazing thing. it is so baby friendly (i mean she could do so much!!) i can't wait to take bennet back there. you never know we might need to make it a yearly thing. if you have stayed at the other resorts tell me about them. i am curious about them. i would love to have a full kitchen and be at a resort so we are close to everything but would love to save money by getting groceries. i love ya disney but your prices are insane!

Oh man! I LOVE all your pics and reading about your trip! I loved seeing the fall decorations up in MK. One of our goals when we go in Sept 2012 is to take the boys to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. You have to buy tickets to it, but they basically close MK early one or two nights a week in September and October and set up houses for all the characters and you go trick or treating all around the park. Kids and parents both dress up and there's a big parade and stuff. I'm SO pumped she loved MK! And that she loved looking around and riding some many different things! My favorite thing about AK is also the safari, but I also love the Lion King and Finding Nemo shows. Joel loved both of those when he was a baby. And I agree - Epcot is more difficult with little ones. There's a ride inside Mexico with the three capanieros (sp) and Donald Duck that's bright and fun, but aside from that not much for little tines in the Magic Kingdom... until they're a little older. Then you can go to each country's pavilion and they have craft stations. It's very cool. On the other side of Epcot they have the Finding Nemo ride which Joel liked but it has one kind of scary part. When she's tall enough y'all will have to ride Soarin and another awesome thing over there is Turtle Talk with Crush (from Nemo) where a digital turtle comes on screen and talks to toddlers/kids and interacts with them (a real person is behind the screen so he addresses them and stuff). I also loved hearing about how she lit up for Mickey and Minnie. That's adorable! :)
..Blogger made me split my comment - lol.
I'm glad you liked the Polynesian! If you guys do look into going every year I would definitely recommend buying into Disney Vacation Club (which is what we did) OR renting vacation club points (I know of two reputable people you can buy through). You'd be amazed at how comparable it is to staying in a place like Polynesian if you rent points and if you buy points it's an initial investment, but it's a deal in the long run because there's no inflation for the 40+ years you're a member of the program and all you pay each year is dues so when you book your trip you only have to think about travel, food, and park tickets (we buy annual passes and make sure to go the week before we went the year prior the next year so we get the best value). Anyway, with the Disney Vacation Club resorts they make studios which are the cheapest, smallest option (where we're staying right now) and they have a small kitchenette - a fridge, microwave, cabinets for storage...). All the DVC places also have little grocery stores but the prices are high. I pack dry goods from home (cereal, snacks, muffins, etc) and only buy wet things there (milk, etc), BUT I found out lately there's a company in Orlando that delivers groceries that are more reasonably priced to your room at Disney World which a LOT of people use and I'd use that in the future for SURE. In DVC you can also get a 1-3 bedroom little "apartment" for while you're there. All of these have full kitchen (including dishwasher), a washer/dryer (swoon!), a jet tub, separate shower, living rooms separate from bedrooms... they're just really nice. I cannot WAIT until we upgrade to a 1 bedroom. If you go to Disney World again you should set up a DVC tour. It's totally worth it just to see a preview of everything and get free ice cream. They'll pitch you buying through them, but we did not. Their prices and interest rate plans on their loans are crazy. We bought resale through people selling their points and spent $8500 on what would have cost us $18,000 through Disney. So definitely talk to me if y'all ever think about buying and I'll give you more info on that! We've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge twice with a Savannah view. It's amazing because the animals are outside your balcony. We've also stayed at Saratoga Springs which is a DVC resort and where'd you go if you did the tour. It's beautiful and spaced out well. And then for cheaper trips we stayed at Coronado Springs and Port Orleans French Quarter. The Moderates are pretty nice, but once you stay in a deluxe (Polynesian was a deluxe and all DVC resorts are deluxe and so is Animal Kingdom Lodge) it's hard to stay in Moderates like Coronado Springs and Port Orleans or elsewhere.
I'm so glad you had FUN!!!
