time for an update

wow...how can i go from an update everyday to no update for 2 weeks?!!?!
seriously though my life has been...on the road. and that can throw a person off. since the first day of this month (march, right?!!) i have been traveling with my hubs. for the most part, it has been great. being able to spend time with him, seeing what he loves to do, meet some very generous people, and seeing how the band's new music is helping so many people. who can complain, right?
well apparently, i can. just about the lack of sleep though. i don't think that makes me a bad person. being pregnant naturally makes you a little more on edge and when you throw in lack of sleep, well you get the picture. but not to toot my own horn, i think i did pretty well. no crying. no yelling. all in all i was a pretty chill pregnant girl. (but seriously no more sleeping on a bus for me for a long time) :)

lets go back to all the positives. you really should check out Sanctus Real's new cd "pieces of a real heart" there are so many moving songs on it (my favs being "forgiven", "lead me", and "i'll show you how to live") i kid you not i got teary eyed every night hearing these great songs. (for all the moms or soon to be moms the beginning lyrics of "i'll show you how to live" are "i heard the sound of your first breath. a brand new life on your mother's chest. a beating heart, expectant eyes, on the first day of your life" *tear*)

another great thing about this trip is happening right now. i am in bakersfield, ca visiting pete's family. getting to spend time with his parents, brother and sis in law and grandma prevost has been so so nice. although we all wish pete could be here too but the tour had to keep on going and he is up in seattle right now. he won't be home to nashville till the 21st. gosh that feels so far away. it is so hard when the trips to play shows are so long, but getting to go out and see the response from so many people helps me. it helps me realize this is what God wants him to be doing and what He has gifted them all to do. i have never been so proud of pete.

so yes i am in california and will be going home to nashville either monday or tuesday. although it will be sad to say goodbye to fam, i am excited to get back. i miss my cats, my bed, my friends. 2 weeks is a long time to be away but i won't forget any of it. such a great time!

*coming soon...20 weeks update!!!

*also watch the "forgiven" video...pete looks hot and all playing the banjo and keys :)

little baby

my sister courtney gave birth to a beautiful little girl on friday! she is a very little one weighing only 4 pounds 3 ounces, but is doing good:) please pray for a fast recovery for my sis and that baby Eiley Sophia can go home soon. right now they have her on a feeding tube to keep her weight up and she is in the NICU. she is very alert with big eyes :) we can't wait to meet her and love on her!

happy, sad, and peanut butter

pete and i just put up the baby crib. we went a few days ago to babies r us, went ahead and made the purchase. i mean why wait? i got my jenny lind crib in white and can't wait to find out what we are having so i can go out and purchase all the crib sheets. :)

now let me fill you in on the sad so you all can feel for me. last night was the last night pete and i got to sleep next to one another, in the same bed for 24 days. ummm...are you kidding me?!?! sounds pretty sucky, huh?
now to calm the dramatic down, i will be on a tour bus with him for 8 of said days. so it won't be as tragic as if i was staying home and he was just going. i am thankful the band has a tour bus and i get to go. i would be lying if i said i was looking super forward to this trip. i am mostly dreading it. i can't sleep very well at night now and i have never been able to sleep on the bus w/o some sort of pill to put me out...and we all know you can't take those being pregs. to be able to spend a few more days with pete and then the best of all...i get to spend some time with my in-laws, helps take the dreading away. i am so excited to see them :) it will also be so nice to get out of the 40 degree weather and be where it is sunny and in the 70s!

baby blogs blogs and more blogs

okay...seriously, i cannot get enough of baby blogs. i read them more then my own baby books i have on my night stand. i think it definitely has something to do with them being more personal. these are real women and their pregnancy stories. when i find a good one, i go all the way back to their first post and dive in. for me, right now in this stage (i.e pregnant), this is like opening up a great book. i get so excited to read about what they felt at my current week (right now 17 weeks!) and then the best is reading their birth stories. as some know, i am planning on natural. when i find a blog where they were actually able to go natural all the way, i am so inspired. i mean come on those are some strong women. (seriously though, i got curious yesterday and watched some labor videos, well 5 seconds of one. are you kidding me?! i mean i always "knew" about the labor and heard all the stories about how wide you know what goes, but COME ON. seriously?!!? that is gonna happen to me?! wahhhhhhh....) anyways, strong women. i can do that right? i think it is so important to go into the whole labor (being ripped open) thing with goals. right now my goal is to make it to 7 centimeters then if i seriously don't think i can go anymore (which i am praying i will be strong enough to) i will get the epidural (which until i watched the horrible video, was the scariest thing to me...i hate needles and don't want one in my back like EVER). so if you are anything like me (scared out of my mind) reading some inspiring stories really help.

i wanted to pass along some of my absolute favorite. some of these women have yet to experience the labor but have inspired me so much already. some of these are learning to be a new mommy. and some are doing all this and are dang funny. my blog isn't very "popular" and i am not sure how many people read this but i want to give them a shout out and maybe introduce more readers, like myself, to their amazingness.

dear baby
ummm...this girl. seriously she is so cute and not to mention has a musician hubby so i feel like we can relate. i was so happy to discover her blog and this past weekend while my hubs was on the road i went and read every post. i laughed and my pregnant face even got teary eyed reading her birthing story.

harpers happenings
a very, very funny mother to little harper (who is just so cute!) i look forward to reading and cannot wait for her newest post. she is a stay at home mom who is very honest and straight forward. i laugh...out loud at her funny entries and my husband thinks i am going crazy.

please send parenting books
a very touching blog. she had to experience a lot of worry going on bed rest. her pregnancy story seemed like it had to be very hard but she always wrote positively and could be having her baby right now! which is a good thing bc she is far enough along now that seeing her baby boy will be such a great magical thing. i can't wait to read how it all goes. oh and the stories of her and her husband are hilarious!!! oh and....i got the idea for the pregnancy survey from her blog. great idea and a great way to remember details.

the bee hive
a mom to three. all i need to say is she delivered her newest babe in her bathroom and her husband caught it. seriously?!?!! you can't say that isn't amazing. i enjoy reading up on her views on vaccines and love how she follows scripture. very inspiring.

just dandy
my dear, dear friend who is expecting her first in a few weeks! one of my best friends and old roomy. she taught me so so much, how to knit, sew, and she is one of the kindest girls i know. she currently has THE cutest nusery in the blog world and has made everything in it. you should probably go to her etsy and purchase some cute handmade baby shoes and elephants. her craftyness amazes me and i can't wait to meet her little baby boy.

so there you have it. 5 of my fav. i def read more but when i see that these 5 have posted a new entry i get so giddy. enjoy!!

also...here is a cute nursery pic...

lovin' feeling

this weekend has been so fabulous! maybe it had something to do with the 65 degree weather or the first time the sun has shown so beautifully in nashville since fall. but mostly, for me, it had to do with my boy being here. i had energy too!

husband and my baby daddy,
i love being home with you, especially on sunny warm weekends. you are the only person who would let me wake them up from a nap with a smile on their face. you are the only person who wouldn't tell me how annoying i am when i can't stop singing about wanting bubble tea. you are the only person who makes sure i am on the inside (away from the cars) while on a sunday walk. you are the only person who cracks up with me about the silliest things. :) you are the only person who is constantly telling me how beautiful i am and how great of a mommy i will be. you let me "shooooooosh" rude, talking people in movies and will even give them a glaring look with me. you are the only person in nashville who will eat jack n the box with me. you are the only person who wakes me up to tell me to sleep on my side. you eat creamsicles with me on our porch and talk about gardening with me. you look at me with this look i can't describe that makes my heart melt...even when i wake up in the morning with gross breath and mascara under my eyes. you are my best friend. you are going to be the best daddy in the world. every time you talk to my belly i know our baby perks up. he or she already is learning your voice, your laugh. thank you for one of the best weekends...i think our baby would thank you too if he or she could.

ps...thanks for getting up from the couch to get me some watermelon. i will try to share it better with you.

16 weeks

starting a weekly update of the growing baby. i have this fear i am gonna forget everything i am experiencing. i have one of the worst memories and add to that pregnancy brain. so sorry in advance this blog is mostly for me...

How Far Along?
16 weeks and 2 days!
How Big is Baby?
they say roughly the size of an avocado (which makes me hungry for some guacamole)
Weight Gained So Far?
with the flu last week, i lost some lbs. but with all the hot fudge sundaes i am eating i am sure i am gaining it all back :)
Maternity Clothes?
this week i finally met my baby belly. i have had a little pouch but i can actually see the belly through clothes now! i am still wearing my skinny jeans with a belly band or rubber band. let me be honest though...it is a rare occasion i am in anything else besides pajama pants. sorry pete ;)
Stretch Marks?
NO!!!! and if i ever have to write "yes" to this it will be a sad sad day and i will soothe my sorrows with chocolate shakes and kit kats ALL day!
Sleep?
it is now said in every book i have that i should be sleeping on my sides. we brought out the huge body pillow last week and i am trying to train my body to stay off my back. pete will sometimes tap my shoulder in middle of night and let me know i am not on my side. seriously this is hard. i know it is important and i don't want to ever harm my baby for the sake of my comfort. has any other moms had problems with this? does it get easier? give me some hope, please.
Best Moment of the Week?
hearing the heartbeat the other day! i mean how much are those doopler things. i need one so i can listen to it all the time!!
Any Movement?
this past week i started feeling something but it just feels like gas (waaaa waaa) i can't wait to really know "ooooh that was the baby moving!"
Food Cravings?
i want i want i want easter candy. hot fudge sundaes are the BEST (and .99 cents at mcdonalds) still want fruit. also grilled cheeses are happening a lot around our house.
Gender?
weeeee fiiiinnndd ooutttt March 23!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can you tell i am excited)
Looking Forward To?
feeling some movement and finding out the gender. also i am excited to go to california in a few weeks to see pete's family and spend some time with pete on the road!
Embarrassing Pregnancy Moment?
this past week with the flu...puking in front of your husband never makes you feel attractive.

*if anyone can think of a question i should add to this weekly update, send it my way!
