baby update

yesterday we had our 2nd midwife appointment. it is always so exciting getting to go and make sure the nugget is growing good. everything went smoothly...heard the heartbeat for the first time! {our first app. the midwife couldn't find it so we had an ultrasound to make sure it was all okay. we could only see the heartbeat on the monitor which was if your wondering 154} it was so beautiful to hear that steady beat! it was at 147 this time.
some things they told me...i have group b strep. i had never heard of that before so was kinda scared when they were telling me i had this. they assured me not to worry and that i would just need to be hooked up to some antibiotics during labor to make sure it doesn't harm the baby. okay....
also, my blood type is ab negative. that is right...i am rare. anyways, because it is negative, at 28 weeks i will have to get a shot so that my blood and body doesn't think the baby is a foreign object if it has a different blood type and fight against it. my body better not fight against my baby!!! but once again the assured me not to worry and that the shot will take care of that.
okay....

so walking out of the doctors i was feeling a little worried. thank the Lord i have family to call! i called my sister amanda {mother of 2 amazing boys} she had group b strep with both of her boys (apparently this could be hereditary) phew...that really calmed me down. i am so thankful that she has gone through the whole pregnancy thing and i can call her and she knows exactly what to say! also, she and her really smart husband filled me in more about blood types and all that. they assured me not to worry also....phew thanks family! :)


so this last visit made me realize just how amazing and detailed pregnancy is. i am feeling good(after battling the flu last week...YUCK) and just so amazingly happy. i have never felt this way before. God is so good and i am so glad He knows all and sees all. i know He is hearing our prayers and taking care of our little babe.

also...we find out what we are having march 23! it feels so far away but i wanted pete to be there with me and he is getting ready to go on the road for a tour. i am just thankful there is a break in it and he can come with me to see if its a boy or a girl...i am thinking its a boy but so many others think its a girl. guess we will have to wait and see......:)

lots of thoughts

it is amazing how much there is to think about with being pregnant. all the many, many important things (am i eating right or enough, will the baby be healthy, how will this change our lives and marriage, birth plan?, do we have enough money for this, can i handle it especially with pete being a traveling musician, etc.) and all the many vain things (girls clothes are cuter, how will i decorate the nursery, who will it look like, how will it effect my body, i am going to be huge in the summer time!, etc)
all those, and many more, run through my head at least a few times a day. seriously it is crazy.

even though my mind is on constantly (even at night) i can't wait to meet the little person. pete and i both have mentioned wanting our first baby to be a boy but we would def be happy with either. all we pray for is a healthy baby.

here is a nursery picture that i love! i am currently on the look out for a crib this style and when i find it i am painting it this yellow seriously so perfect for a boy or girl.

a new year and a new little life

WHEW...i have been holding that in FOREVER it feels like. We had our first ultrasound today and they assured us that everything looks great! I will post a pic of the little nugget later right now he or she is just in there relaxing with the tiny legs crossed and hands over the face...it already takes after me and my weird sleeping habits! the little person will make it's entrance august 2 so I am preparing for a long hot summer. ha

be prepared for this to be baby blog prevost for a while :)

yesterday i celebrated this...

all by my lonesome.  

pete is on the road...i just got a call this morning...the bus is frozen up and they can't drive it.  it is in the shop and hopefully they can get on the road later tonight...problem is they are in wyoming...so it will take 18+ hours to get back to the chicago area then it will take pete an extra 8 hours to get home from there.  this isn't turning out the way i thought it would.  let's just say i guess i will always remember our first anniversary.   but not so much for how awesome it was.

pete, i love you. get home to me safely and quickly so we can celebrate our first year of marriage.  i love you with all my heart and i am so excited to share so many more with you!

umm...what?? have i really not updated for almost 2 months? that is so silly...

well i am back....

today i am anyway. life has been crazy, insane, hard, fun, busy, looong, fast, exciting....the list goes on and on but you get it. i can't believe it is november! this is my favorite time of year. from the weather, the colors, the anticipation for christmas! my birthday is this month. you know you are old when you don't get that same excited feeling about your day. i mean i am only turning 25 in a couple weeks, i know that i am not old, but its just not the same.
